THE CITY BEYOND
At the end of the long road, a thousand worlds begin.
The City Beyond is a short cinematic science-fiction sequence built around one simple idea: a parent and child reaching the end of a long journey and discovering an enormous city that connects countless worlds.
Instead of treating the project as four separate AI-generated clips, I wanted every shot to feel like part of one continuous journey. The characters remain the same, the world remains recognizable, and with every new scene the city grows larger, brighter and closer.
It brings together visual storytelling, continuity, AI-generated video, editing, sound design and atmosphere — all within a sequence of only twenty seconds.
The complete sequence lasts approximately 20 seconds, divided into four cinematic chapters of five seconds each.
The Final Sequence
The City Beyond — final cinematic sequence.
Production Workflow
- Adobe Premiere Pro — import the LTX 2.5 clips, build the sequence and remove the original generated sound.
- Add text when necessary — use titles only where they support the story and visual rhythm.
- Adobe Media Encoder — export the edited sequence from Premiere Pro.
- Adobe Express — open the exported movie and create a high-resolution 4K version.
- ElevenLabs — import the sequence and create sound effects, environmental atmosphere and music with AI.
- Adobe Express — combine the finished elements and export the final 4K movie.
The Story
At the end of the long road, a thousand worlds begin.
Visual 01 • 00:00–00:05
The Long Road
After years of crossing forgotten worlds, they finally see the city on the horizon. For the first time, the journey feels like it may truly have an end.
Visual 02 • 00:05–00:10
The Frontier Outskirts
They enter the outer districts, where travelers, workers, traders and dreamers from countless worlds pass through. The city is still far away, but its energy is already everywhere.
Visual 03 • 00:10–00:15
The City of a Thousand Worlds
The skyline opens before them. Ships fill the sky, lights stretch beyond sight and every road seems to lead somewhere new. They have reached the crossroads of the galaxy.
Visual 04 • 00:15–00:20
A New Beginning
They stand together beneath the towers, knowing the long journey is over. Ahead lies a future neither of them can predict — but for the first time, it feels full of possibility.
Continuity Lock
One of the hardest parts of generative video is not creating one beautiful shot. It is creating several shots that feel like they belong to the same film.
Same parent and child from behind in every shot, same alien world, same giant moon, same warm dusk color palette, same futuristic city growing closer in each clip, smooth cinematic motion, no hard jump in character position, and each shot should visually continue into the next.
I kept the character design, costume silhouette, city architecture, moon placement, dusk lighting and camera language consistent throughout the sequence.
Sound Creates the World
The original generated audio from LTX 2.5 was removed during editing. This gave me complete control over the final atmosphere.
Sound effects and music were created separately with ElevenLabs. The audio grows with the journey: soft wind and distant ambience at the beginning, machinery and traffic in the outskirts, layers of spacecraft and city activity at the centre, and finally a more open and emotional musical ending.
The city should not suddenly become loud. It should gradually begin to exist around the viewer.
Why This Project Matters to Me
What interests me most about AI video is not simply generating impressive images. It is learning how to use those images to tell a story.
Twenty seconds is not much time. But a road, two travelers, a distant city and four carefully connected moments are enough to suggest an entire universe beyond the frame.
That is exactly what made The City Beyond such a wonderful challenge for me: combining AI generation with editing, design, timing, sound and emotion until the separate pieces begin to feel like one journey.
